BYD India has officially announced a price hike for its popular electric SUV, the BYD Sealion 7, and the update is now effective from 1 January 2026. As per the latest revision, the Premium variant of the Sealion 7 has become costlier by Rs 50,000, while the Performance variant continues at the same price. This move comes amid growing demand for premium electric vehicles in India and rising input costs in the EV segment.
BYD Sealion 7 New Prices Explained
After the price hike, the ex-showroom price of the BYD Sealion 7 Premium now stands at Rs 49.40 lakh, compared to Rs 48.90 lakh earlier. On the other hand, the BYD Sealion 7 Performance variant remains unchanged at Rs 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The good news for early buyers is that all bookings made on or before 31 December 2025 are protected, meaning customers who booked earlier will not be affected by the new price revision. BYD has clearly confirmed that prices and performance figures for both trims remain unchanged for those bookings.
Why Has BYD Increased the Price?
While BYD has not given a detailed breakdown, the price hike is likely due to higher battery costs, logistics expenses, and overall production inputs. The Premium variant, being the more value-focused trim, has seen this adjustment, while BYD has chosen to keep the Performance variant’s pricing stable to maintain its competitive appeal in the premium EV SUV space.
