The 2026 Tata Punch small SUV is offered with a total of five powertrain combinations, giving buyers flexibility based on fuel preference and driving style. The 1.2L normal petrol engine produces 88 PS of power at 6000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 3250 rpm. It is available with both a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT, making it ideal for city users who want a balance of performance and fuel efficiency.

The new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, this engine delivers a strong 120 PS at 5500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 1750 and 4000 rpm. It is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox and makes the new Tata Punch 2026 the most powerful SUV in its segment, outperforming rivals that usually offer smaller 1.0-litre turbo engines.

For buyers looking for lower running costs, Tata Motors also offers the 1.2L CNG bi-fuel engine, which produces 73 PS and 103 Nm of torque when running on CNG. This engine is available with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmissions, which is a big update, as automatic CNG options are still rare in this segment. When running on petrol, the CNG variant produces the same power and torque as the normal petrol engine.
