Kia has released the teaser of the upcoming all-new Kia Sorento, confirming that the premium SUV is coming to India. The new Sorento has already been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. However, Kia has not yet revealed the official launch timeline or shared more details about the India-spec model.
Upcoming Kia Sorento – What to Expect?
According to online reports, the new Kia Sorento is expected to arrive in India between September and October this year. Meanwhile, select Kia dealerships have reportedly started accepting unofficial pre-bookings for the SUV with a token amount of Rs. 25,000. The model is likely to be introduced via the CKD route and is expected to be priced at around Rs. 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
Globally, the Kia Sorento is available in 5-, 6- and 7-seat configurations. However, the India-spec version is expected to feature a three-row layout with 6-seat and 7-seat options, making it a practical choice for family buyers in the premium SUV segment.

The 2026 Kia Sorento for India is expected to come equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, dual 12.3-inch displays, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, all-LED lighting and large alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the Kia Sorento is expected to be powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with an electric motor in the strong hybrid version. The SUV is also likely to be offered with an optional AWD system.
Once launched, the upcoming Kia Sorento will rival the Toyota Fortuner, MG Majestor, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron and Jeep Meridian in the Indian market.
