Tata Motors has officially teased the 2026 Tata Punch Facelift, and the update brings some exciting changes that make this popular micro-SUV more powerful, more premium, and more tech-loaded than before. With a new i-Turbo petrol engine, refreshed interiors, and segment-first features, the upcoming Punch facelift aims to attract young buyers as well as first-time car owners in India.
The Tata Punch facelift launch date is set for 13 January 2026, and ahead of the official unveiling, here is everything you need to know in simple and easy language.
2026 Tata Punch Facelift Gets New i-Turbo Engine
The biggest highlight of the 2026 Tata Punch Facelift is the addition of a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which now gets an i-Turbo badge. This is the same turbo engine family already seen in the Tata Nexon, and it is expected to bring a big performance boost to the Punch lineup.
Alongside this new turbo engine, Tata will continue offering the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is already known for its smooth and reliable performance. Buyers who prefer better fuel savings will also get the petrol + CNG bi-fuel option, making the Punch suitable for daily city use.
The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 88 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque, while the CNG version delivers 73.5 PS and 103 Nm of torque. The upcoming 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine is expected to produce around 120 PS and 170 Nm, similar to the tune used in the Altroz Racer. This will make the Punch facelift one of the most powerful cars in its segment.
Tata Motors is also improving the transmission options in the Punch facelift. The standard petrol version will continue with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. The CNG variant will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The turbo-petrol version is expected to come with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and there are strong chances of a 7-speed DCA automatic transmission being introduced later. This upgrade will make highway driving smoother and more enjoyable.

Completely Updated Interior with Premium Feel
Step inside the 2026 Tata Punch Facelift, and you will notice a major upgrade in design and technology. Tata is introducing a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a fresh interface, giving the cabin a modern and connected feel.
The dashboard has been redesigned completely, and it now gets a new climate control panel inspired by the Tata Sierra and Tata Curvv. This update makes the interior look more premium and futuristic, even for first-time car buyers. The cabin layout is expected to be more driver-focused, with better visibility, improved materials, and a cleaner overall design.
Advanced Safety and Tech Features
Tata has always focused on safety, and the Punch facelift 2026 continues this tradition. The new model is expected to get features like hill descent control, which is very helpful on steep roads and bad terrain.
Another big addition is the 360-degree camera, a feature rarely seen in this price segment. This makes parking easier and safer, especially for new drivers. With these updates, the Punch facelift becomes one of the most feature-rich micro-SUVs in India.
2026 Tata Punch Facelift Expected Price
While Tata Motors has not announced the official prices yet, the expected price of the 2026 Tata Punch Facelift is likely to be between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The turbo-petrol variants will sit at the higher end of the range, while the standard petrol and CNG versions will remain affordable.
