Tata Safari and Tata Harrier Petrol BNCAP Crash Test Secure 5 Stars

Tata Motors has once again proved its strong focus on safety and innovation. The company has officially confirmed that the petrol variants of Tata Safari and Tata Harrier have secured a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash test. This is a big update for buyers who were waiting for petrol-powered versions of these popular SUVs without compromising on safety.

Tata Safari and Harrier Petrol: What’s New?

Recently, Tata Motors unveiled the petrol variants of the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier. These petrol models will be offered in the same variant lineup as their diesel counterparts, making it easy for customers to choose their preferred fuel option. In addition to this, Tata has introduced exclusive Ultra range variants, named Fearless Ultra and Fearless Ultra Red Dark. These special variants are expected to offer a more premium and sporty appeal, especially for buyers who want something different from the regular trims.

Powerful 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine

Both the Tata Safari petrol and Tata Harrier petrol will be powered by a 1.5-litre Hyperion TGDi turbo-petrol engine. This engine is designed to deliver strong performance while maintaining smooth drivability. Both Tata Harrier and Tata Safari petrol comes with 1.5-litre Hyperion TGDi turbo-petrol engine produces 158 bhp and 255 Nm of torque paired with 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearbox. This setup makes the petrol Safari and Harrier suitable for both city driving and long highway journeys.

5-Star BNCAP Crash Test Rating Explained

The biggest highlight is safety. The Tata Safari and Tata Harrier petrol variants have scored a full 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. Earlier, these safety ratings were applicable only to the diesel versions. Now, Tata Motors has confirmed that the same crash test results are extended to the petrol models as well, which is great news for safety-conscious buyers.

  • Adult Occupant Protection: 30.08 out of 32 points
  • Child Occupant Protection: 44.54 out of 49 points

These scores clearly show that both SUVs offer excellent protection for passengers, making them among the safest SUVs in India.
