KTM RC 160 Leaked Details: Very Soon Will Launch in India

KTM is one of the most popular bike brands among young riders in India. The brand is known for its aggressive design, powerful performance, and sporty riding feel. Now, KTM is again in the news after leaked images of the upcoming KTM RC 160 surfaced on the internet. As per the latest updates, the KTM RC 160 is expected to launch in India very soon, and it could become a big attraction for entry-level sports bike lovers.

According to reports, the KTM RC 160 is likely to replace the KTM 125 Duke in the Indian market. KTM may also introduce the Duke 160 alongside the RC 160, giving buyers both naked and fully-faired options in the 160cc segment. This move makes sense as Indian riders are now looking for more power and value for money.

KTM RC 160 Design and Visual Changes

The leaked image of the KTM RC 160 shows that the bike looks sharp and sporty, staying true to KTM’s racing DNA. While the overall chassis, suspension, and fuel tank design look similar to the Duke models, there are some noticeable differences that confirm it is a new RC version.

The KTM RC 160 gets a rear tyre hugger, a shorter rear number plate holder, and a pillion grab rail, which are not seen on the Duke models. These changes make the bike look more track-focused and aggressive. The exhaust and mid-pipe design look similar to the 160 Duke, but on the RC 160, they come with a blacked-out finish, adding to its sporty appeal.

KTM RC 160 Engine & Launch

The upcoming KTM RC 160 will be powered by the same engine as the Duke 160. It uses a 164.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is based on the 200 Duke’s motor. This engine is expected to produce 19hp at 9,500rpm and 15.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, offering smooth gear shifts and strong performance both in the city and on highways. For beginner riders, this engine setup promises a good balance of power, control, and excitement.

In terms of pricing, the KTM RC 160 is expected to be priced slightly higher than the Duke 160. For reference, the KTM Duke 160 starts at around Rs 1.71 lakh (ex-showroom). Since the RC version comes with full fairing and a sportier design, a small premium is expected. KTM has not officially announced the launch date yet, but based on leaks and market reports, the KTM RC 160 could launch in India in the coming months. Once launched, it will strengthen KTM’s position in the entry-level sports bike segment.

KTM RC 160 vs Yamaha YZF R15 V4

The KTM RC 160 will directly compete with the Yamaha YZF R15 V4, which is currently one of the most popular fully-faired bikes in India. With more power, aggressive styling, and KTM’s performance-oriented image, the RC 160 could attract riders who want a sportier alternative to the R15.
