The new Renault Duster is finally getting closer to its much-awaited return in India. After being one of the most popular SUVs in its segment earlier, Renault is now ready to relaunch the all-new Renault Duster in India on January 26, 2026. Recent spy images of the test mule have revealed many important details, giving us a clear idea of what Indian buyers can expect from this upcoming midsize SUV.
New Renault Duster Design
The 2026 Renault Duster will come with noticeable India-specific design updates, making it different from the global version. At the front, the SUV gets sleek headlamps paired with eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, which look sharper and more modern. This is a clear change from the Y-shaped DRLs seen on the international model.

Below the grille, the Duster features three air intake slits and a wide lower air dam, giving it a bold and muscular stance. Fog lamps placed on either side add to the SUV’s rugged appeal. Although the grille is still covered in the spy shots, the overall front design looks more premium and aggressive than the older model.

New Renault Duster Safety and Features
One of the biggest highlights from the spy images is the presence of a radar sensor mounted on the windscreen. This strongly indicates that the India-spec Renault Duster will offer ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). If launched with this feature, it will be a major upgrade and a strong selling point in the midsize SUV segment. Another exciting detail is the camera module visible despite the covered grille, suggesting a 360-degree camera system. This could make the new Duster the first Renault car in India to offer a 360-degree camera, improving safety and making parking easier for drivers.

New Renault Duster Expected Engine
Unlike the older Renault Duster sold in India, which was popular for its diesel engine, the new-generation Duster is expected to launch only with petrol powertrains. Renault may offer the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 156hp, which is already available in the global model. In addition, a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Renault Kiger could be offered in lower variants, possibly with a small power increase. This engine setup will help Renault keep the starting price competitive while offering strong performance in higher trims.
The 2026 Renault Duster price in India is expected to fall between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). With this pricing, the new Duster will compete directly with popular midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
