Kawasaki has officially launched the 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 7.83 lakh. This new model is now rolling out from Kawasaki’s production line and comes with E20 fuel compliance, making it future-ready for India’s ethanol-blended fuel norms. With its classic styling, modern features, and refined engine, the Z650RS continues to attract riders who love retro bikes with today’s technology.
The Kawasaki Z650RS is designed to celebrate over 50 years of the iconic Z legacy, which started with the legendary Kawasaki Z1 in 1972. The bike clearly reflects old-school charm while still feeling fresh and premium.
It is available in a single colour option – Metallic Ocean Blue, which enhances its retro appeal. The bike features a round-shaped LED headlamp at the front and a sleek LED tail lamp at the rear. These design elements give the Z650RS a perfect balance between classic motorcycle vibes and modern finishing.
Kawasaki Z650RS Features and Safety
Even though the Z650RS looks retro, it is packed with modern features that improve comfort and safety. Kawasaki has equipped the bike with Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), which comes with two riding modes. This system helps riders maintain control on slippery or low-traction roads, making it beginner-friendly as well.
Another important feature is the Assist & Slipper Clutch. This reduces clutch lever effort, which is very useful in city riding, and also prevents rear-wheel hopping during aggressive downshifts. It makes the bike smoother and more confidence-inspiring to ride.

Smart Connectivity with RIDEOLOGY App
The dual-dial retro-style instrument cluster is one of the highlights of the Z650RS. It looks classic but includes a modern LCD screen in the center. This display supports smartphone connectivity via RIDEOLOGY THE APP.
Using the app, riders can access ride information and bike data directly on their smartphones. This feature blends nostalgic design with modern convenience, which many riders look for in premium motorcycles today.
Kawasaki Z650RS Engine and Performance
Powering the 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS is a 649cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. This engine produces 68 PS of power and 64 Nm of torque, offering smooth acceleration and strong mid-range performance. It is suitable for both city rides and highway cruising.
The bike comes with a 12-litre fuel tank, which is practical for daily use as well as weekend rides. Kawasaki claims a mileage of around 23 kmpl, which is decent for a middleweight motorcycle in this segment.
Price and Segment Positioning
At Rs 7.83 lakh (ex-showroom), the Kawasaki Z650RS is positioned as a premium retro roadster in India. It targets riders who want a stylish, powerful bike with proven reliability and modern safety features, without losing the charm of classic motorcycles. It will direct compete to Brixton Motorcycles Crossfire 500 X.
