Mahindra Thar Facelift Spotted Testing – New Design, Features & Launch Update

The iconic off-roader SUV Mahindra Thar is once again in the spotlight. Recent spy shots reveal that the Mahindra Thar facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads, covered in camouflage wrap. This clearly hints that the company is preparing a refreshed version of its popular SUV, likely to debut later this year.

The test model seen on the road gives us a rough idea about what’s coming next. Even though the SUV is fully wrapped, some design elements are clearly visible. From the latest images, it looks like the updated Thar is borrowing styling cues from the Mahindra Thar Roxx. This means we can expect a more modern and bold design compared to the current version.

The biggest updates in the Mahindra Thar facelift will be clearly visible in its exterior design, giving the SUV a more modern and aggressive road presence. The front grille is looking inspired by the Mahindra Thar Roxx, adding a bold and fresh look to the front fascia. other highlights are the LED headlamps, replacing the current halogen setup, along with stylish circular DRLs that enhance its premium appeal. The facelifted model is also likely to feature new alloy wheel designs and reworked front and rear bumpers.

Inside the cabin, changes are expected to get updated seat upholstery and some additional features for better comfort and convenience. Don’t expect a complete overhaul, but small improvements that enhance the overall driving experience.

Mechanically, the Mahindra Thar facelift is expected to remain unchanged, continuing with its reliable and powerful engine lineup. The SUV will likely be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine along with 1.5-litre and 2.2-litre diesel engine options, giving buyers multiple choices based on their driving needs. These engines will be paired with both manual and automatic transmissions, and customers will also get the option of rear-wheel drive (RWD) as well as 4×4 drivetrain.

The facelifted Thar is expected to launch later this year in India.
