The legendary Honda Fireblade SP is back in India, and this time it arrives in its top-spec SP trim. This version comes equipped with advanced features, including electronically controlled Ohlins suspension, making it a true track-inspired superbike. Officially named the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, the machine has been developed with inputs from Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and Honda Fireblade SP priced at ₹28.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Honda Fireblade SP comes with a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 218hp and 113Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features a bi-directional quickshifter for seamless upshifts and downshifts. It also gets ride-by-wire throttle for precise control.
In terms of hardware, the superbike is fitted with Ohlins suspension at the front and rear, twin 330mm discs up front, and a 220mm disc at the rear for strong braking performance. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels, with a 120-section tyre at the front and a 200-section tyre at the rear, ensuring excellent grip and handling.
When it comes to competition, the Honda Fireblade SP will rival other litre-class superbikes in India, including the BMW S1000 RR (₹20.75 lakh – ₹25.25 lakh), the Kawasaki ZX-10R (₹19.49 lakh), and the Ducati Panigale V4 (₹30 lakh – ₹36.50 lakh). Positioned in the middle of this exclusive segment, the Honda Fireblade SP is more premium than its Japanese rival, the ZX-10R, yet more affordable than the Ducati Panigale V4.
