Hyundai has officially revealed the all-new Hyundai Staria Electric, marking a major step forward for the brand in the electric MPV segment. The unveiling took place at the Brussels Motor Show, where Hyundai showcased its first fully electric version of the Staria, a large people-mover known for space, comfort, and futuristic design. The Staria Electric is scheduled to go on sale in Korea and Europe in the first half of 2026, with other global markets expected to follow later.
Hyundai Staria Electric Performance and Battery
The Hyundai Staria Electric is powered by a large 84kWh battery pack, paired with a front-mounted electric motor. This setup produces 160kW (215bhp) of power and 350Nm of torque, making it one of the more powerful electric MPVs globally. According to Hyundai, the electric Staria offers an estimated WLTP driving range of up to 400km, which is suitable for both city use and long-distance travel.
One of the key highlights is its 800-volt electrical architecture, a technology usually seen in premium electric cars. This allows the MPV to support DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes under ideal conditions. For home and workplace charging, Hyundai also offers an 11kW AC onboard charger, ensuring convenient daily use.
Hyundai Staria Electric Exterior
While the overall shape remains familiar, the Staria Electric gets several EV-specific design changes. These include a closed-off front grille, unique detailing, and a horizontal LED lighting signature that gives the MPV a clean and modern look. The charging port is placed at the front, making it easier to plug in at public charging stations.

Hyundai Staria Electric Interior

The Staria Electric retains the long and boxy design of the ICE-powered Staria, focusing on maximum interior space and easy access. Hyundai will offer the electric MPV in two seating configurations at launch. Buyers can choose between a 7-seat Luxury variant or a 9-seat Wagon version, depending on their needs.
Luggage capacity is also impressive. With all seats in place, boot space ranges from 435 litres to 1,303 litres, depending on the seating layout. This makes the Hyundai Staria Electric ideal for large families, airport transfers, and commercial passenger use.
Inside, the Staria Electric benefits from a flat floor layout and a high roofline, improving headroom and making it easier to move between rows. The dashboard features dual 12.3-inch screens, one for the digital instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system.
The system runs Hyundai’s latest ccNC software, which supports over-the-air (OTA) updates. This means features and software can be updated without visiting a service centre. Hyundai has also retained physical buttons for commonly used functions, which improves ease of use while driving.
Hyundai Staria Electric India Launch Status
At present, Hyundai has confirmed the Staria Electric for Europe and Korea only. There is no official confirmation regarding an India launch. Considering the limited demand for large MPVs in India and the current EV charging infrastructure challenges, the electric Staria’s chances in the Indian market remain uncertain for now.
