Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) Variant Launched, Priced at Rs 12.55 Lakh

Kia has expanded the Carens Clavis lineup in India with the launch of a brand-new HTE (EX) variant, priced starting at Rs 12.55 lakh (ex-showroom). This new trim is positioned smartly between the HTE (O) and HTK+ variants and is aimed at buyers who want premium comfort features at a more affordable price point.

With this update, Kia has made features like a sunroof and automatic climate control more accessible in its popular MPV range.

Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) What’s New?

The biggest advantage of the Carens Clavis HTE (EX) is that it brings several comfort and convenience features that were earlier limited to higher variants. Kia has focused on offering better value by adding features such as a single-pane sunroof, automatic air conditioning, and LED DRLs at a lower price. This move helps Kia attract family buyers who want a premium feel without spending much more on top-end trims.

Engine Options and Transmission

The Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) variant is offered with all the engine options available in the Carens Clavis lineup. Buyers can choose from a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115hp, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 160hp, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116hp.

However, it is important to note that the HTE (EX) trim is available only with a manual transmission across all engine options. There is no automatic gearbox option for this variant.

Updated Kia Carens Clavis Variant Lineup

The Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) prices (ex-showroom, India) are competitive and clearly positioned to offer value. The petrol manual variant is priced at Rs 12.55 lakh, while the turbo-petrol manual variant costs Rs 13.42 lakh. The diesel manual version is priced at Rs 14.53 lakh.

Seating Configuration and Variants

The HTE (EX) variant is offered only in a 7-seater configuration, making it suitable for large families. Kia has not introduced a 6-seater option for this trim. The focus here is clearly on practicality, comfort, and affordability.

With the addition of the HTE (EX) trim, the Kia Carens Clavis is now available in a total of eight variants. These include HTE, HTE (O), HTE (EX), HTK+, HTK+ (O), HTX, HTX (O), and HTX+. This wide range of trims ensures that buyers have multiple choices based on budget and feature preferences.
