Mercedes G 450d Launched in India at ₹2.9 Crore – New G-Wagon with Mild-Hybrid Diesel Power
Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the all-new G-Class G 450d in India, priced at ₹2.9 crore (ex-showroom). The G 450d marks the latest addition to the iconic G-Wagon lineup, and only 50 units will be available in the first batch for India, making it quite an exclusive SUV. This new version replaces the previous G 400d and brings a mix of power, performance, and luxury with a modern mild-hybrid diesel engine setup. Interestingly, the G 450d costs ₹20 lakh less than the all-electric G 580, giving buyers a more affordable yet powerful diesel alternative.

Under the hood, the Mercedes G 450d gets a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces 367hp. It also includes a 48V mild-hybrid system, which adds an extra 20hp boost for better performance and efficiency. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h.
Off-Road Capabilities
Being a G-Wagon, off-road ability is in its DNA. The Mercedes G 450d features:
