Tata Motors has officially launched the Tata Xpres sedan for the fleet and commercial car segment in India. The new Tata Xpres is available in petrol and CNG variants and is designed especially for taxi operators and fleet owners who want a reliable, affordable, and low-maintenance sedan. This fleet-only car is based on the popular Tata Tigor, making it a familiar and trusted option in the commercial vehicle market.
Tata Xpres Petrol and CNG Details
The Tata Xpres petrol price starts at Rs. 5.59 lakh, while the Tata Xpres CNG price is Rs. 6.59 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). These competitive prices make the Tata Xpres an attractive choice for commercial use, especially for daily city and highway operations. Bookings for the Tata Xpres fleet sedan are now open. Interested buyers can book the car by visiting their nearest Tata Motors showroom. Since it is a fleet-only model, it will not be sold to private individual buyers.
The Tata Xpres petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 86hp of power and 113Nm of torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission only. The Tata Xpres CNG variant uses the same petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. While Tata Motors has not yet revealed the exact power figures for the CNG version, it is expected to offer good fuel efficiency, making it ideal for taxi and fleet operations.

Tata Xpres Exterior and Interior Features
Just like the Xpres-T EV, the petrol and CNG versions ride on 14-inch steel wheels. However, these variants get black wheel covers instead of silver ones. Inside the cabin, the Tata Xpres features a dual-tone interior, giving it a cleaner and more practical look compared to the all-black cabin of the EV version. To keep costs low, Tata Motors has not provided an audio system in this model, which is acceptable for a fleet-focused car.
The petrol variant of the Tata Xpres offers a boot space of 419 litres, which is quite practical for luggage in commercial usage. For the CNG model, the boot space figure has not been officially disclosed. However, it gets twin CNG cylinders with a total water capacity of 70 litres, which take up less space compared to a single large CNG tank. This design helps retain better luggage space, an important factor for fleet cars.
Both Tata Xpres petrol and CNG variants come with an impressive warranty of up to 5 years or 1,80,000 km. This long warranty period adds extra confidence for fleet owners and helps reduce long-term maintenance costs.
