Honda Motorcycle India has announced a recall for two of its premium sportbikes the Honda CBR650R and the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP. The recall has been issued to be different issues. Honda has started contacting affected customers directly to ensure timely inspection and repair.
Honda CBR650R Recalls Explained
According to Honda, some units of the Honda CBR650R manufactured between 16 December 2024 and 4 May 2025 may have an electrical problem related to the turn indicators. In these motorcycles, a wiring part connected to the turn indicators may rub against a metal component over time. Due to regular vibration and friction while riding, this can lead to a short circuit. As a result, some lights may stop working properly, which goes against regulatory safety requirements and can be risky on the road.

The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP has been recalled for a different reason. Select units produced between 30 September 2024 and 22 August 2025 may face excessive engine oil consumption due to certain part-related conditions. If the engine oil level drops and is not checked or topped up regularly, it can affect normal engine performance and long-term engine health. To avoid any damage or inconvenience to riders, Honda is inspecting these motorcycles and replacing the affected parts.

Customers whose bikes are covered under the recall are advised to visit their nearest Honda BigWing Topline dealership. Honda will carry out a detailed inspection, and all affected parts will be replaced free of cost, regardless of whether the motorcycle is still under warranty or not.
