The wait is finally over! KTM has officially unveiled the all-new 2026 KTM 990 RC R in the global market. This stunning supersport marks the grand return of KTM to the high-performance racing segment after the discontinuation of the legendary KTM RC8 in 2015. The new 990 RC R it is not just an upgrade it’s a completely redesigned for pure speed, precision, and performance.
Engine and Performance
The 2026 KTM 990 RC R carries a 57 kg LC8 engine, which delivers a thrilling 130 horsepower and 103 Nm of torque. Interestingly, this is the same motor used in the KTM 990 Duke, where it produces 123hp. KTM engineers have fine-tuned it for the RC R to make it more track-focused and responsive.

The engine is paired with a steel chassis and a die-cast aluminium subframe, making the bike both lightweight and incredibly stable during high-speed cornering.

The 2026 KTM 990 RC R is packed with advanced electronics to suit every rider’s style. It offers four standard riding modes – Rain, Street, Sport, and Custom. Optional modes include Track and two Custom modes for those who love to fine-tune their ride. For braking performance, it gets four ABS modes – Street, Sport, Supermoto, and Supermoto+ ABS, allowing riders to control how much intervention they want during aggressive rides.
